Dear Choristers
In 2023, the European Union Choir had the honor of performing in prestigious venues and in front of enthusiastic audiences. Among the highlights, we particularly remember our masterful performance of ‘Hör mein Bitten’ and ‘Die erste Walpurgisnacht’ by Félix Mendelssohn in December. We opened the season in March 2023 with Fauré's Requiem and Saint-Saëns' Requiem at the Brussels Conservatory, followed by the interpretation with piano and 'soloists' of Mozart's Requiem in April at the Amon-Rê temple. In October, our collaboration with the Diamond Symphonic Orchestra allowed us to perform Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
The year 2023 was also rich in fruitful collaborations. We had the privilege of working with renowned soloists, such as Julie Gebhart, Julie Bailly, Cécile Lastchenko, Markus Ennsthaller, Matthew Zadow who brought incomparable depth and virtuosity to our performances. In addition, our partnership with the Ensemble Orchestral de Bruxelles and its conductor Jacques Vanherenthals has made it possible to raise our musical level and offer concerts of exceptional quality.
We would like to express our deep gratitude to everyone who helped make 2023 an exceptional year. Thank you to our members for their passion and commitment, to our partners for their unwavering support, and to our public for their enthusiasm and loyalty.
Together, we have created unforgettable musical moments and we look forward to continuing this great adventure in 2024.
